Milton, FL was established in 1844. Though I have lived in Milton my whole life, I haven't taken the time to really look at the area. With this series of photographs I will be documenting the discovery of my hometown through the people who live there and will allow for the photographs to speak for themselves. I will be using blurb.com to create my book. It will be 10x8, hardcover with a dust jacket. The book will consist of up to 20 pages of full bleed photographs.
Oh my! I love these photos!I love how the guy is shirtless like a model but has so much body hair and isn't toned. It's perfect for what you are going for!.. I like where this book is going. Maybe you can try taking some pictures of the local school with children playing.. If you are allowed. Is there a old, small gas station in Milton? That would be kind of cool too..
ReplyDeleteI like how it looks like you are starting to think more of incorporating the people from milton into more of your pictures. I feel like I am really starting to get a sense of the actual atmosphere of milton. Keep up the good work!

ReplyDeleteI really like the moments, places, and people you're capturing in your photos. It really looks like a journey to discover a place and its people. :) I can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeletei like this picture. this picture has a activity. This title will be this; the rest after working.
ReplyDeleteI definitely like your idea. Possibly when you’re done with it you can sell your book at different locations throughout the city of Milton. I definitely like the different types of shots you have in each photo. It gives the viewer multiple themes to look at when it comes to Milton. I’ve never been there before and just by looking at your photographs I already am getting a sense of what Milton is like. Keep up the good work.

Hey!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the photos and the idea! Great composition and color! I love documentary photography, and some of my favorite's are Robert Frank, August Sander, Tony Ray Jones, Eugene Atget, Walker Evans, and Dorthea Lange. I would definitely look at some of their work for some inspiration! But so far you are doing a great job! Keep up the good work!

You should proceed with Milton book sales in mind. I like the idea of the photos not being staged. My favorite is the Tastee Freeze cup!

These are wonderful. MORE! You will need lots to edit from. So far you have achived a warm and honest tone in these few images. I am interested to see if that will change, or if you are able to maintain it. Lots of images will provide you with a range to select from so that you can maintain the tone that you strive for.
ReplyDeleteThey are touching, and not in a cheesy way, not contrived. This is hard. Keep it up!!!
